This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the selection of suppliers and validation of parts for Design, New Product Introduction (NPI), and Risk/Cost Reduction initiatives.
• Manage pricing for Bill of Materials (BOM) throughout design phases and mass production milestones.
• Address cost discrepancies and supply chain effects resulting from changes in BOM, design, and project scope.
• Request and coordinate supplier recommendations for Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Align supplier selection with commodity management strategies.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Support buyers and ensure accurate clean-to-build part status.
• Promote Early Supplier Involvement initiatives.
• Formulate supply chain strategies for Jabil-owned components within NPI projects.
• Oversee the qualification of components and suppliers, encompassing DFM, First Article Inspection (FOT), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
• Collaborate with NPI buyers and suppliers to optimize and reduce on-hand inventory.
• Drive supply chain projects focused on cost optimization, quality enhancement, and supply assurance.
• Manage responses to critical quality issues, production constraints, and negotiations with suppliers.
• Advocate for value propositions in Risk/Cost Reduction projects.
• Produce Supply Chain and Sourcing outcomes utilizing Jabil's templates, software, and procedures.
• Participate in cost estimation for custom parts.
• Ensure components are qualified, validated, and prepared for procurement prior to production handoff.
• Lead the identification and implementation of process improvements at Jabil.
• Adhere to safety, health, and corporate security protocols.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, with experience in Supply Chain.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% within the US and Mexico.
• Proficient PC skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical or mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in reading and speaking English.
• Capability to interpret 2D and 3D drawings and discern essential information to manufacture components in accordance with GD&T guidelines.
• Strong skills in problem-solving, analytics, negotiation, project management, and interpersonal relations.
• Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts, summarize information, and draw accurate conclusions.
• Competence in performing calculations related to discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Aptitude for resolving practical issues with limited information.
• Ability to comprehend written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
