Technical Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Define and implement comprehensive IoT solutions tailored to specific customer programs.

• Convert customer business requirements and technical constraints into solution architectures, proposals, SOW inputs, NRE estimates, and implementation strategies.

• Serve as the primary technical liaison between customer engineering teams and Telit R&D, as well as Program Management.

• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to assess NRE efforts, development timelines, testing and validation needs, certification impacts, BOM considerations, technical risks, and SOW assumptions.

• Generate high-quality documentation, including architecture documents, technical proposals, SOW inputs, customer-facing design packages, interface specifications, data-flow diagrams, and decision/risk summaries.

• Create reusable architectural patterns, best practices, reference designs, estimation models, and technical templates for future customer interactions.

• Engage in design reviews, architecture evaluations, risk assessments, implementation planning, validation readiness reviews, and issue-resolution activities throughout the project lifecycle.

• Conduct technical tradeoff analyses that encompass cost, schedule, power consumption, connectivity, reliability, manufacturability, certification, security, scalability, and long-term supportability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• Over 10 years of experience in IoT, embedded systems, wireless technologies, cloud-connected products, or technical solutions architecture, ideally including commercially deployed connected-device programs.

• Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles involving requirements discovery, architecture definition, presales support, proposal development, technical presentations, and SOW input.

• Familiarity with SOW-based delivery, NRE cost modeling, development estimation, BOM tradeoffs, engineering schedule contributions, and documentation of technical assumptions/risks.

• Knowledge of product development and commercialization processes, including requirements gathering, architecture design, EVT/DVT/PVT, validation planning, regulatory/certification compliance, production ramp-up, and ongoing support.

• Experience integrating cellular (LTE, LTE-M/Cat M, NB-IoT, 5G), Wi-Fi, BLE/Bluetooth, GNSS, sensors, and embedded interfaces into commercial products.

• Strong comprehension of secure device-to-cloud data-flow models, including MQTT, HTTPS/REST APIs, encryption, mutual authentication, certificate management, secure provisioning, API security, OTA/FOTA, and fleet management.

• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, technical documentation, and cross-functional leadership abilities, including the capacity to articulate tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
