This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Engages in technical sales and market development initiatives with contractors, engineering firms, designers, specifiers, and end users to enhance product visibility and demand.
• Conducts face-to-face customer visits, jobsite consultations, technical presentations, lunch-and-learn sessions, and meetings during the design phase.
• Collects market intelligence, observes competitive activities, and communicates project updates to support the business strategy.
• Informs contractors, engineers, and fire protection experts about product availability, technical capabilities, relevant codes, standards, and best practices for installation.
• Identifies upcoming projects and influences specifications to ensure Wheatland product approval and specification.
• Monitors projects throughout the design, bidding, and installation processes to ensure specification consistency and maintain customer engagement.
• Assists contractors during the bidding and submittal phases by providing technical documentation and product expertise.
• Represents Wheatland Tube at trade shows, industry conferences, association events, and technical seminars.
• Assesses quality claims by performing onsite investigations, collecting data, and collaborating with the Quality Assurance team to address customer issues.
• Works alongside Outside Sales Representatives to meet territory goals, share project insights, and provide outstanding customer support.
• Collaborates with Quality, Operations, Marketing, and Product Management teams to align customer needs with business capabilities.
• Engages in outreach with colleges and universities through presentations, career fairs, and initiatives that involve students.
• Assists with special technical sales and market development projects as assigned.
• Advocates for and promotes safe and healthy work practices in accordance with regulatory requirements and Company policies.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent technical experience will also be considered.
• 3–5 years of experience in technical sales, mechanical or piping systems, fire protection, steel products, or a similar industry.
• Experience in supporting contractors, engineers, designers, or specifiers is preferred.
• Knowledge of steel pipe manufacturing, installation practices, and relevant industry standards such as NFPA, ASTM, and UL/FM.
• Excellent technical communication skills with the capability to present information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and mobile technology.
• Self-motivated with outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25–50%, including occasional overnight trips.
