This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• The Technical Sales Representative is tasked with expanding an established territory and customer base by generating business, cultivating relationships within existing accounts, and driving new business opportunities.
• Achieving sales and profit objectives by nurturing current customers and identifying new business prospects.
• Responsible for enhancing profitability within the region.
• Develop and sustain an opportunity pipeline to support revenue and territorial growth targets among both existing and new customers.
• Employing a consultative selling approach, regularly engage in sales calls with current customers to strengthen partnerships; offer additional products and services that may benefit the customer, suggest alternative product solutions, introduce new items, demonstrate product features and functionalities, and address inquiries regarding product applications.
• Actively seek new business opportunities by researching and generating leads with targeted businesses through various prospecting methods, including cold calling, canvassing, customer referrals, and partner relationships.
• Present vending solutions or integration possibilities.
• Generate and follow up on quoting activities and proposals, negotiate terms, and close deals.
• Identify, present, and document productivity enhancements and cost-saving opportunities for the customer base.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Organize and conduct training sessions for customers while introducing and demonstrating new products.
• Report competitive conditions, observed customer financial weaknesses, and customer feedback to management.
• Participate in sales, product, and other branch/company meetings.
• A minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience.
• Experience in metalworking/industrial/MRO is required.
• Strong business acumen.
• Proven success in achieving sales targets, acquiring new accounts, retaining existing accounts, and expanding sales within active accounts.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines, and execute agreed-upon sales metrics.
• Experience with Automated Procurement Systems is preferred.
• Demonstrated capability to resolve issues and develop actionable plans.
• Proficient in utilizing MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM solutions.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; a 2- or 4-year college degree is preferred.
