This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Proactively source candidates for AI and engineering positions within Lazer's Core practice by creating targeted lists, crafting personalized outreach messages, and executing focused sourcing initiatives.
• Oversee candidate communications throughout the entire process: scheduling interviews, coordinating interview loops, and ensuring candidates are kept informed and engaged at every stage.
• Maintain accurate and organized records in Ashby, including stage updates, notes, and sourcing tags, to provide the team with a clear overview of the candidate pipeline.
• Screen incoming and sourced candidates at the initial stage and forward well-qualified profiles to the Senior Technical Recruiter and hiring managers, providing them with clear context.
• Leverage AI to enhance productivity—develop or utilize sourcing agents, automate repetitive outreach tasks, and continuously improve your independent output.
• Assist with offer logistics, including reference checks, scheduling debrief calls, and tracking offer statuses, ensuring that no details are overlooked as the process concludes.
• Gain market knowledge—develop an understanding of AI engineering compensation, what candidates prioritize, and the competitive landscape, sharing valuable insights with the team.
• 2–4 years of experience in recruiting, specifically sourcing and screening technical talent such as software engineers, AI/ML engineers, or related roles. Experience can be from agency, embedded, or in-house settings.
• Active user of AI tools, including sourcing agents, automated outreach sequences, and AI-assisted screening—must already be utilizing these tools rather than learning about them.
• Demonstrated fluency in AI engineering topics—able to engage in discussions about LLMs, agents, RAG, or evaluations, and differentiate between candidates with hands-on experience and those with adjacent knowledge.
• Exceptional written communication skills—outreach messages are opened and responded to because they resonate as genuine, well-researched communications rather than templates.
• Highly organized and proactive in administrative tasks—maintains a clean ATS, progresses candidates through stages without needing reminders, and keeps hiring managers informed.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal structure—adaptable to rapid changes and self-sufficient in managing tasks.
