Technical Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Identify cross-team dependencies and oversee critical paths for multi-team engineering initiatives.

• Keep real-time critical-path views updated and highlight timeline impacts due to team delays.

• Bring to light hidden and emerging dependencies before they hinder progress.

• Summarize project dependencies, risks, timelines, and key drivers into clear updates for stakeholders and leadership.

• Actively coordinate with product management, design, data, legal, engineering, and other involved parties.

• Ensure effective communication between teams on both sides of dependencies.

• Seek answers, escalate issues when necessary, and maintain momentum in work.

• Offer technical decision support by grasping architecture, infrastructure, API design, and the trade-offs between building and buying.

• Analyze sequencing implications and highlight effects on timelines, scope, and teams.

• Facilitate broader input when technical decisions require it.

• Keep records of dependency graphs, specifications, decisions, and timelines.

• Document decisions made in Slack conversations and impromptu meetings.

• Assist new project participants in quickly grasping project context and sequencing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in systems and dependency thinking across interconnected multi-team plans.

• Technical understanding of architecture diagrams, system trade-offs, and sprint planning.

• Over 4 years of experience managing complex, multi-team software projects with various workstreams and stakeholders.

• Strong written communication skills for providing clear and accurate updates to non-technical audiences.

• Proactive in coordinating with stakeholders and ensuring follow-through.

• Capability to drive clarity and progress in ambiguous situations.

• Cross-functional credibility with engineers, product managers, designers, and executives.
