Technical Project Manager

📋 Description

• Lead and define intricate, high-stakes engineering initiatives.

• Manage engineering projects from inception through execution and refinement.

• Establish scope, milestones, timelines, dependencies, and potential risks.

• Facilitate trade-offs to documented decisions and take responsibility for outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers to impact architectural and interface choices.

• Coordinate efforts across engineering, product, design, security, and go-to-market divisions.

• Oversee the operational rhythm and communicate updates on program status, risks, and trade-offs to technical, executive, and customer stakeholders.

• Enhance engineering efficiency through improved tools and streamlined processes, including AI-native tools and Coder's offerings.

• Provide visibility to leadership to assist in strategic direction.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in technical program management.

• Proven experience with complex, multi-team projects where no single team was accountable for the entire outcome.

• Strong technical intuition, including the ability to interpret design documents and evaluate implicit assumptions.

• Demonstrated history of delivering at scale, including managing a defined external commitment such as a GA, launch, or regulated enterprise timeline.

• Strong organizational influence and capacity to mobilize teams without direct reporting authority.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with both technical and executive audiences.

• Ability to apply the appropriate process while maintaining speed and rigor.

• Familiarity with Go, Postgres, GCP, Kubernetes, gRPC, TypeScript, React, Vite, Kotlin, Prometheus, Grafana, GitHub Actions, GitHub, Slack, Discord, and Notion.
