This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the delivery and strategic development of content authoring platforms.
• Collaborate with Technical Directors and engineering leads to influence the system roadmap.
• Evaluate the technical feasibility and infrastructure scaling requirements for both AI and non-AI software initiatives.
• Facilitate technical design discussions and assist developers in overcoming complex logic challenges.
• Convert business objectives into comprehensive technical specifications and define API boundaries.
• Identify technical risks, alleviate system constraints, and guide technology decisions.
• Act as the main technical liaison for external organizations, state educational agencies, and client integration teams.
• Lead conversations regarding cross-platform data exchange, secure integrations, and standardized data pipelines.
• Supervise the implementation of educational data frameworks and ecosystem standards such as QTI.
• Establish data mappings and interface requirements with third-party vendors.
• Analyze backend system issues by examining data flows and systemic effects.
• Conduct root-cause analyses and prepare post-incident reports.
• Develop SQL Server scripts to extract, validate, and isolate data discrepancies.
• Review application and server logs to probe bugs and data pipeline failures.
• Manage deployments and operational maintenance periods in collaboration with DevOps and SRE teams.
• Collaborate with QA engineers throughout the development process.
• Organize Confluence repositories to ensure searchable and accurate reference materials.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related technology-focused field.
• At least 7+ years of experience in technical project management, or a Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Over 5 years of direct experience managing software engineers, engaging in hands-on software development, or leading technical system design.
• A minimum of 2 years working in data analysis, product support, or technical coordination roles.
• Knowledge of modern data transmission protocols, RESTful APIs, webhooks, and secure data-sharing frameworks.
• Strong hands-on ability to write relational SQL Server scripts from scratch for data analysis.
• Thorough understanding of back-end application architecture, web application interactions, and automated data flows.
• Proven experience tracking large-scale engineering lifecycles from planning to deployment.
• Solid conceptual grasp of AI foundational components, including Large Language Models, generative workflows, and vector search.
• Practical proficiency with AI productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or automated project management workflows.
• Direct experience in configuring, testing, or launching integrations using the QTI framework.
• Strong eagerness to understand the complex mechanics of educational software applications.
• Previous experience in high-pressure production support, site reliability, or incident management settings.
