This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the complete release cycles for both DataHub Core (OSS) and our Managed Cloud.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, QA, DevOps, documentation, and customer success.
• Establish Quality Gates: Define the "Go/No-Go" criteria to ensure that every release is robust.
• Create Automation: Develop dashboards and runbooks that convert manual release chaos into an efficient operation.
• Risk Management: Detect breaking changes and dependency issues before they impact production.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all inquiries and updates related to releases.
• Conduct release retrospectives and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
• 5+ years of experience in technical program management or release management positions.
• Demonstrated success in managing intricate software releases in dynamic startup environments.
• Thorough understanding of software development lifecycles, CI/CD practices, and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience with both open-source and enterprise software release models is highly advantageous.
• Strong technical foundation with the capability to comprehend architecture, dependencies, and technical compromises.
• Excellent project management abilities with expertise in tools like Jira, Linear, or equivalent.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to varied audiences.
• Experience collaborating with cross-timezone and cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with data platforms, metadata management, or data catalog platforms is a significant advantage.
• Background in managing releases for platforms featuring complex architectures.
• Proficiency in GitHub workflows, release automation, and version control.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native deployment models.
• Previous participation in open-source communities and understanding of OSS governance.
• Awareness of SaaS operations, single tenant & multi-tenant architectures, and staged rollout strategies.
• Familiarity with observability tools, incident management, and on-call processes.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies and sprint planning.
