This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Lead the collection of requirements through user research encompassing a diverse range of users and stakeholders.
• Convert concepts, user needs, and business requirements into detailed, high-fidelity user interface designs utilizing Figma.
• Develop user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and UI specifications that effectively communicate ideas and ensure understanding for both stakeholders and developers.
• Conduct iterative design reviews with stakeholders, assess usability, and refine designs based on received feedback.
• Take ownership of transforming stakeholder feedback and research insights into user stories and acceptance criteria; prioritize and manage the feature backlog.
• Work closely with outsourced or offshore developers to guarantee the precise implementation of Figma designs, clarify requirements, and maintain alignment throughout the development process.
• Oversee daily development activities, which include sprint planning, quality assurance coordination, and release scheduling.
• Maintain product roadmaps for BD Performing Arts software platforms, including both third-party and proprietary solutions.
• Collaborate with partners within and outside of BD Performing Arts to innovate offerings and support technical initiatives across the organization.
• Regularly report progress, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership.
• Proven work experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within product management.
• Strong proficiency in Figma, encompassing the creation of wireframes, prototypes, design systems, and developer-ready UI specifications.
• Professional experience collaborating with software development teams and modern development methodologies such as SCRUM and AI-assisted coding.
• Forward-thinking perspective on AI, including coding (Claude code preferred), agents, security, and responsible AI practices.
• Practical experience managing all phases of the product lifecycle.
• Technical expertise with a solid understanding of software development and web technologies.
• Team-oriented with exceptional communication and facilitation abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in social sciences, marketing, computer science, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
• PMP or CSM certification is preferred.
• A passion for pageantry, marching music, or the performing arts is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Experience with event management software or event-driven businesses is a plus.
