Technical Product Owner, Data & AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the execution bridge connecting product strategy with data engineering delivery

• Convert requirements into clearly defined user stories

• Guide the team through each sprint from refinement to release

• Collaborate with the Product Manager and stakeholders to establish and uphold business requirements, use cases, and acceptance criteria

• Develop a solid understanding of the data platform architecture and ingestion patterns

• Convert product and business requirements into well-defined Epics and User Stories

• Lead sprint planning and refinement meetings

• Work alongside technical leads to ensure solutions align with platform standards

• Write SQL queries and data transformation scripts for data validation

• Assist in defining and maintaining data quality standards, governance policies, and data taxonomy

• Create business and technical documentation for stakeholders

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related technical discipline

• 3 - 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a similar role within a data-centric software development setting

• Proficiency in SQL, including the ability to write queries, interpret transformation logic, and validate data in a warehouse environment

• Practical experience with cloud data warehouse platforms (e.g., Snowflake)

• Hands-on experience with data governance concepts, including data quality frameworks, data lineage, metadata management, or data catalog tools

• Conceptual understanding of modern data architecture patterns such as data lakehouse, data mesh, ELT pipelines, and data modeling strategies

• Experience in managing a product backlog and facilitating sprint planning and refinement in an Agile environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for business audiences
