This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Who We Are: Anza is a research and development lab focused on Solana, dedicated to advancing blockchain performance and scalability. Founded by seasoned executives and core engineers, we tackle the most significant challenges in Web3. We believe that robust protocols are best developed collaboratively and transparently. Our mission is to create innovative solutions that address the evolving needs of decentralized applications.
• The Role: As the Technical Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that Anza's work effectively reaches validators, developers, and ecosystem partners reliant on the Agave client. Your position will bridge engineering, developer relations, and external communications, transforming complex technical protocol work into a comprehensible narrative. You will coordinate major launches from start to finish and influence how the broader Solana ecosystem perceives and understands Anza’s contributions.
• This role deviates from traditional product marketing. You will need to analyze code change descriptions and Solana Improvement Documents or participate in working group discussions to gain a solid understanding of the subject matter, identifying key audiences and effective communication strategies. Your efforts will significantly shape the ecosystem's understanding and adoption of Anza's initiatives.
• Responsibilities:
• Major Launch Coordination: Lead the end-to-end coordination for Anza's most impactful launches in 2026, including Alpenglow's transition to mainnet, MCP's initial release, IBRL milestones, and validator-oriented changes such as SIMD-0123 (Block Revenue Distribution). Guide narrative development, content creation, spokesperson selection, timing, and channel strategy in collaboration with Anza, the Solana Foundation, and ecosystem partners.
• Release Management: Oversee the marketing strategy for the Agave release cycle, which includes the upcoming 4.2 release and parallel stable/beta tracks. Decide on key highlights, spokespeople, announcement timings, and how the story is conveyed across our blog, social media, GitHub release notes, technical documentation, and press. Create a repeatable release playbook to ensure future releases maintain consistent quality and momentum.
• Technical Content and Positioning: Convert consensus changes (Alpenglow, MCP), networking and execution enhancements (XDP, direct mapping, block limit increases), and operator/developer experience improvements (scheduler bindings, rent reduction, larger transaction sizes) into clear messaging for validators, developers, and the wider ecosystem. Write and refine launch announcements, detailed explainers, and supporting materials.
• Social and Channel Ownership: Take full responsibility for Anza's X (Twitter) presence, establishing editorial direction, drafting and scheduling posts, highlighting engineering achievements, coordinating launch-day social media activities, and engaging directly with the validator, developer, and broader Solana community. Treat the account as a primary platform for Anza's voice rather than an afterthought.
• Media and Foundation Coordination: Cultivate relationships with crypto and infrastructure media and work closely with the Solana Foundation to align narratives, event schedules, and media strategies during major milestones.
• Project Management: Manage the operational framework of Anza's marketing and communications efforts, including content calendars, tracking cross-team alignment on launches, coordinating review cycles, and overseeing dependencies and timelines to ensure external rollouts proceed smoothly. You will ensure that communications, content, and partner coordination are timely and synchronized without burdening engineers.
• Messaging and Narrative: Create messaging frameworks and positioning for Agave and Anza’s broader product offerings, ensuring narrative coherence across all external interactions—from GitHub release notes to keynote presentations at major conferences.
• What You'll Bring:
• Background: Experience as a former engineer transitioned into marketing, or several years of intensive technical marketing within infrastructure, developer tools, distributed systems, or protocol-level crypto. Traditional consumer or B2B SaaS product marketing manager backgrounds are not suitable for this role.
• Technical Fluency: Proven ability to read code descriptions, technical specifications, or protocol documentation and independently form a well-informed perspective on their significance. Familiarity with validator clients or networking is a strong advantage.
• Launch Experience: Demonstrated success in managing complex, multi-stakeholder launches from start to finish in technical product settings, preferably involving multiple independent organizations.
• Writing: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in technical writing. You should be capable of producing launch posts that resonate with engineers while remaining accessible to non-experts.
• Project Management: Strong instincts for facilitating cross-functional execution without generating friction. Comfortable holding partners accountable to their commitments without being overly assertive or process-heavy.
• Ecosystem Knowledge: A deep understanding of and enthusiasm for the Solana and Web3 ecosystems. Familiarity with Agave, validator clients, SIMDs, or consensus-level concepts is highly desirable.
• Disposition: Resourceful, humble, self-driven, and eager to engage actively.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Existing connections with crypto/infrastructure media or developer communities.
• Experience coordinating launches across multiple independent organizations (foundations, client teams, ecosystem partners).
• Active involvement in Bitcoin/Ethereum/Solana projects or the open-source community.
• Why Join Anza? We provide a vibrant, fast-paced environment where innovation and problem-solving are central to our mission. Your contributions will directly influence how blockchain infrastructure is developed, communicated, and embraced, laying the groundwork for decentralized applications globally.
• We are eager to welcome individuals who share our enthusiasm for advancing blockchain technology. If you are prepared to tackle challenges and help shape how the next generation of blockchain infrastructure reaches the world, we would be thrilled to hear from you.
• The salary range for candidates based in the US will be determined throughout the interview process, based on experience, skills, and location.
