Technical Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the product roadmap for systems developed on streaming and event-driven architecture.

• Convert technical capabilities such as Kafka, microservices, and cloud infrastructure into precise product requirements.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to prioritize backlog items, considering both technical complexity and business value.

• Establish success metrics for high-throughput data products and monitor them after launch.

• Conduct discovery sessions with technical and business stakeholders to pinpoint the most impactful work.

• Draft clear specifications and acceptance criteria that engineers can utilize without unnecessary back and forth.

• Align cross-functional teams (engineering, design, data, business) around a common roadmap.

• Make data-driven decisions when scope, timeline, or technical limitations intersect.

• Articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide business context to engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of product management experience, preferably on platforms with significant technical depth.

• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and streaming systems like Kafka.

• Proficient in discussing microservices, system design, and AWS with an engineering team.

• Some experience with Python products, whether through personal coding or close collaboration with developers.

• Experience in running agile ceremonies and managing a backlog with clear accountability for results.

• Strong skills in stakeholder management, particularly with technical and senior audiences.

• Proven track record of delivering products, not just planning them.

• Inquisitive and articulate communicator, comfortable acting as a liaison between business and engineering.
