This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the entire lifecycle and product roadmap for Lumenci’s AI-driven patent intelligence platform, iLumos.ai
• Prioritize features according to client ROI, competitive gaps, and engineering feasibility
• Establish quarterly OKRs and monitor delivery progress using AI-generated metrics
• Identify market segments that are underserved
• Lead the API-first and integration strategy
• Craft system prompts, tool definitions, and structured output specifications for LLM workflows
• Design agentic, multi-step workflow architecture for patent analysis pipelines
• Create evaluation rubrics for LLM-as-judge pipelines
• Refine prompts leveraging Braintrust evaluation data, feedback from attorneys, and hallucination reports
• Maintain a versioned library of prompts with evaluation scores and rollback capabilities
• Act as the final quality gate for AI-generated outputs
• Verify output accuracy against professional standards for Am Law firms and Fortune 500 IP teams
• Curate gold evaluation datasets that have been reviewed by attorneys
• Collaborate with law firm and corporate IP clients to transform feedback into product enhancements
• Identify and escalate legal accuracy risks
• Manage an async-first, output-driven continuous delivery process
• Oversee Full-Stack and Platform/Security engineering dependencies
• Demonstrate new capabilities, manage enterprise client expectations, and translate feedback into engineering constraints
• Oversee budget, vendor relations, and toolchain discipline
• Contribute to the development of iLumos.ai’s core LLM product, prompt architecture, evaluation framework, async-first delivery model, and direct client relationships
• 3–10 years of combined experience in the patent domain and B2B SaaS product management
• Preference for at least 5 years in B2B SaaS product management
• Minimum of 2 years at a company operating in a domain with significant legal or regulatory accuracy requirements
• USPTO registered patent agent with registration number, or JD with substantial experience in patent prosecution or litigation
• Over 3 years of hands-on experience with claim charts, invalidity contentions, FTO analyses, or office action responses
• Familiarity with at least one patent analytics platform such as Patlytics, Derwent Innovation, Orbit Intelligence, PatSnap, or Google Patents Advanced
• Direct experience collaborating with patent attorneys, Am Law firms, or in-house IP teams
• A technical undergraduate degree is preferred in engineering, chemistry, computer science, or biology
• Proven track record of delivering AI-powered features to enterprise legal or IP clients
• Understanding of LLM architecture fundamentals, including context windows, temperature, and sampling
• Expertise in prompt engineering, including chain-of-thought, few-shot examples, structured JSON schemas, and hallucination-prevention constraints
• Proficiency in tool use/function calling for patent database queries, prior art retrieval, and citation lookup
• Experience in multi-step agent design using LangGraph or equivalent
• Knowledge of LLM evaluation using golden datasets, LLM-as-judge patterns, legal accuracy metrics, and Braintrust or equivalent
• Capability in hallucination mitigation within legal contexts
• Understanding of cost and latency trade-offs, including prompt caching, token economics, and batching
• Daily tool proficiency: Anthropic Claude API, LangSmith, LangGraph or equivalent, GitHub, and JIRA
• Ability to write precise specifications for LLM workflows
• Strong client-facing abilities
• Capacity to make technical trade-off decisions in collaboration with engineering
