Technical Placement Manager – Field Operations, Dealer Relations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Oversee, mentor, and nurture geographically distributed teams of Technical Placement Specialists and Market Area Coordinators, fostering accountability, engagement, and performance.

• Manage program activities for both established legacy programs that require strategic evolution and modernization, as well as new innovative projects from inception through execution and operational maturity.

• Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and consistent execution across all markets.

• Design and implement technician workforce strategies aimed at pipeline development, workforce readiness, service capacity, and long-term technician retention.

• Act as a trusted advisor to Dealer Principals, General Managers, Service Directors, and Fixed Operations leaders concerning workforce planning and technician development.

• Collaborate with dealerships, educational institutions, and workforce organizations to enhance technician recruiting, placement, and career development initiatives.

• Oversee the implementation of technician growth initiatives, ensuring consistency in execution, process standardization, and attainment of program objectives.

• Propel organizational change, training adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives that boost dealer satisfaction and workforce outcomes.

• Manage workforce KPIs, operational reporting, performance analytics, and business reviews to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

• Evaluate technician pipeline, retention, dealer performance, and workforce trends to pinpoint opportunities, risks, and improvement initiatives.

• Administer budgets, resources, and vendor investments while guaranteeing operational efficiency, fiscal responsibility, and measurable ROI.

• Cultivate relationships with workforce development organizations, educational institutions, recruiting partners, and strategic vendors.

• Set performance expectations, accountability measures, and service standards that promote operational excellence.

• Facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and performance assessments to enhance partner contributions and business outcomes.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Workforce Development, or a related discipline.

• 7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in field operations, workforce development, dealer operations, automotive service operations, or similar business functions.

• 5+ years of experience in leading and developing geographically dispersed remote teams.

• Proven track record of managing remote field organizations while ensuring accountability, operational performance, workforce effectiveness, and measurable business outcomes.

• Strong expertise in coaching, performance management, talent development, and organizational leadership.

• Experience in leading process standardization, continuous improvement, organizational change, and workforce development initiatives.

• Proficiency in technician workforce planning, workforce readiness, service capacity management, and retention strategies.

• Advanced analytical capabilities with experience utilizing workforce data, KPIs, CRM platforms, and business intelligence tools to inform operational decisions.

• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence dealership leadership, field teams, and senior business leaders.
