Technical Lead, Software Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Indonesia.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the technical design and implementation of cloud, web, and mobile software for Igloo's property management solutions.

• Take ownership of architecture assessments and system design within the product domain.

• Require comprehensive end-to-end sequence diagrams, API contracts, and clear scope for significant changes prior to sprint planning.

• Conduct design reviews with backend, frontend, and QA teams to ensure alignment on scope, contracts, and testing protocols.

• Establish standards for code review, testing, and CI/CD processes.

• Collaborate with engineering leads to maintain consistency in backend and API standards.

• Work closely with Product, Design, and stakeholders to assess feasibility, define requirements, and provide estimates.

• Manage sprint workflows, monitor cycle times and predictability, and address any sprints that may be at risk.

• Integrate hardware and multi-device testing into the design process and the definition of done.

• Offer technical readiness insights for hardware gate reviews.

• Identify and mitigate technical debt and bottlenecks in the system.

• Engage with stakeholders across various locations and time zones.

• Guide and mentor engineers through code reviews, design evaluations, and collaborative programming sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on technical leadership of a team.

• Profound backend or full-stack expertise, combined with sufficient breadth to evaluate mobile and frontend designs.

• Proven experience in drafting and reviewing technical designs and API contracts (e.g., OpenAPI).

• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and test automation techniques.

• Experience collaborating with product managers and designers in an agile scrum environment.

• A history of elevating engineering standards and mentoring fellow engineers.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Experience with IoT, hardware-connected, or mobile-integrated products is highly advantageous.

• Must be based in, or willing to relocate to, Bali.

• Must be available for some calls outside of Bali hours.
