Technical Lead – Fullstack

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and deploy complete features from React/Next.js interfaces to back-end logic and APIs utilizing Django, PHP, or Magento.

• Address intricate technical challenges related to performance, integrations, and complex bugs.

• Produce clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.

• Conduct daily pull request reviews and offer constructive feedback.

• Establish and uphold coding standards, branching protocols, and a clear definition of completion.

• Collaborate with QA to minimize production bugs and swiftly resolve critical issues.

• Decompose features into tasks, estimate efforts, and coordinate sprint planning with the Product Manager.

• Facilitate daily stand-ups, identify obstacles, and work to eliminate them.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, reviews, and one-on-one sessions.

• Keep stakeholders informed on progress, potential risks, and trade-offs.

• Make and document architectural decisions.

• Enhance CI/CD, monitoring, and release processes in collaboration with DevOps.

• Plan upgrades, mitigate technical debt, and ensure platform security.

• Lead a team of 8–12 engineers in a player-coach capacity.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in developing production-grade React/Next.js applications using hooks, TypeScript, server-side rendering, and state management tools like Redux Toolkit or Zustand.

• Back-end experience with at least one, preferably two, of Django/Python or PHP/Magento 2.

• Proficiency with Django REST Framework, ORM, migrations, and background jobs.

• Familiarity with Magento 2 custom modules, plugins and observers, as well as checkout and catalog customization and performance optimization.

• Experience in designing REST or GraphQL APIs.

• Knowledge of MySQL or PostgreSQL, including query optimization and Redis caching.

• Experience in writing and enforcing unit and integration tests.

• Proven ability to conduct thorough and constructive code reviews.

• Understanding of Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud fundamentals such as Azure or AWS.

• Awareness of OWASP fundamentals, secure handling of secrets and user data, and secure authentication practices.

• A minimum of 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role, planning sprints, and maintaining project timelines.

• 7–10 years of experience in software development.

• At least 3 years in a tech lead or senior engineering role guiding others.

• A demonstrated history of delivering full-stack features to production.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.
