Technical Lead, Founding Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop systems that capture partner activities and act as the definitive billing source of truth.

• Convert partner activities into precise monthly invoices.

• Create an internal claims portal for monitoring, adjusting, and resolving claims, ensuring a clear audit trail.

• Recruit, onboard, and manage a high-achieving engineering team.

• Define architecture and technical strategy for ingestion, record systems, reconciliation, invoicing, and claims tools.

• Stay actively involved in the codebase while enhancing the team's delivery capabilities.

• Maintain integrity, accuracy, auditability, and reconciliation of billing and claims data.

• Collaborate with product, operations, finance, and partner-facing teams.

• Establish engineering practices, on-call procedures, quality standards, and the platform roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of seven years of experience in full-stack software engineering.

• At least two years of experience in managing or formally leading engineering teams.

• Proven history of developing and scaling backend systems and APIs, preferably in financial, billing, or transactional domains.

• Experience with integrating third-party partner systems and implementing bi-directional synchronization.

• Familiarity with modern technology stacks and architectures.

• Leadership in AI-driven engineering and daily AI-assisted development.

• Demonstrated capability to recruit, nurture, and lead engineering teams.

• Strong skills in data modeling and comfort with reconciliation, audit trails, and record systems.

• Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

• Experience in taking a product, platform, or new business line from inception to launch.

• Background in insurance or fintech sectors.

• Knowledge of billing, invoicing, or reconciliation platforms.

• Experience in a startup or new business line setting within a larger organization.

• Must be based in the United States.
