This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Lead the implementation tasks that involve direct customer interaction β Act as the main point of contact for clients during the setup of data interfaces, collaborating with their EHR/Optime, interface, and reporting teams to achieve project milestones.
β’ Conduct data validation and testing β Develop and execute test scripts to verify HL7 interfaces (SIU messages), report-based data feeds (such as Epic Reporting Workbench, Clarity scheduled/logged case reports, block schedule, and release files), along with other data sources.
β’ Oversee production interfaces β Monitor active customer data feeds for discrepancies (such as new surgical service lines, unmapped procedures) and outages (like missing fields, dropped messages), escalating and resolving issues in a proactive manner.
β’ Assist with onboarding new customers β Manage the technical data integration workstream for new implementations, which includes setting up staging environments, conducting endpoint testing, and performing quality assurance for production go-live.
β’ Ensure documentation and processes are up to date β Develop and maintain customer-specific data configuration documents, test plans, runbooks, and interface specifications.
β’ Collaborate across teams β Engage closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to address data availability inquiries, highlight limitations (such as real-time versus nightly batch data), and contribute implementation insights to the product roadmap.
β’ Aid in scoping new data sources β Support the assessment of alternative data sources including ADT feeds, orders interfaces, and Epic APIs as Apella broadens its data platform.
β’ 2β4 years of experience in healthcare technology, EHR integrations, or a similar implementation/technical operations position.
β’ Knowledge of electronic health records β experience with Epic (for example, OpTime, Radiant, Cupid, Bridges, Reporting Workbench, Clarity) and/or Cerner/Oracle Health is highly preferred.
β’ Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 (SIU, ADT) and familiarity with interface engines.
β’ Proficient in working with data β capability to compare, validate, and troubleshoot scheduling data across systems using tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or SQL-based reporting tools (for instance, Metabase, Hex).
β’ Strong project management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple customer implementations at once.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills β you will be the primary point of contact for customers regarding implementation updates.
β’ A collaborative, detail-oriented approach with a focus on proactive problem-solving.
β’ Experience in creating and maintaining test plans, project plans, or technical documentation.
