This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the architecture, technical roadmap, and production releases for CORA, ensuring the team is accountable for quality, reliability, and delivery speed.
• Remain actively involved in architectural design, code reviews, and selective coding to set high technical standards for the team.
• Recruit, develop, and retain a team of 5–6 engineers, focusing on coaching, career advancement, and performance management.
• Establish engineering standards, operational practices, and a delivery rhythm suitable for an early-stage greenfield product.
• Lead the design of the core rules engine, the claims pipeline, and AI innovations to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of COB determinations.
• Make platform decisions regarding extensibility, scalability, and the security required for regulated healthcare data as CORA integrates new payers.
• Collaborate with product, ML, UX, and operations teams to translate evolving payer and analyst requirements into defined, sequenced tasks with measurable goals.
• Align stakeholders across various teams on priorities, tradeoffs, and timelines, driving cross-functional decisions to successful closure.
• Define and communicate metrics that showcase engineering and product impact to leadership and partner teams throughout the company.
• Represent the team to executive and customer audiences, effectively presenting results and clearly articulating the technical strategy.
• Over 3 years of experience in technical leadership and engineering management.
• More than 8 years of experience in building production backend services and applications.
• Hands-on experience in developing and operating microservice architectures using containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) with strong observability.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, GoLang, Scala, or Rust.
• A proven history of hiring, developing, and managing high-performing engineering teams, including performance management.
• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional initiatives and aligning product, ML, and business stakeholders toward common goals.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical audiences and present to executives.
• Proven ability to resolve ambiguous, open-ended problems with measurable outcomes.
• Advanced proficiency with Claude Code or Codex for planning, building, and debugging complex tasks.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
