Technical Draftsman

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Prepare, update, and sustain technical drawings, layouts, diagrams, and accompanying design documentation.

• Transform inputs from engineers, technicians, and programs into coherent draft products and regulated documentation.

• Examine sketches, specifications, markups, and reference materials to ensure drawing precision and completeness.

• Assist with configuration control and revision tracking for technical documents.

• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field personnel to integrate design modifications and operational feedback.

• Ensure compliance of drawings with drafting standards, customer needs, and internal quality protocols.

• Aid in the creation of presentation-quality technical visuals for reviews, demonstrations, and client deliverables.

• Maintain orderly digital files, drawing archives, and documentation repositories.

• Document layouts, scenarios, or equipment configurations for technical planning initiatives.

• Engage in design reviews and provide drafting updates based on feedback received during reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in drafting, design technology, engineering support, or a similar field.

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience.

• Experience in preparing technical drawings and documentation within a professional setting.

• Proficiency in computer-aided drafting and design tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MicroStation, DraftSight, or comparable platforms.

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple revisions and deadlines.

• Capability to interpret engineering notes, technical specifications, and operational concepts.

• Familiarity with document control and configuration management practices.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Ability to work efficiently in a cross-functional technical team environment.

• Secret clearance is mandatory.
