This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Functions as the Technical Director during Live Events, executing in-game visual requirements and directives from the Event Show Director, Producer, and Associate Director; this includes managing multiple discrete feeds (e.g., Clean Feeds, Aux outputs, etc.).
• Develops and maintains TD files and switcher effects, accommodates custom requests, prioritizes tasks, troubleshoots problems, and facilitates communication and documentation with all relevant partners and teammates.
• Works collaboratively across the organization to assess the Event Operations team's requirements for specific productions.
• Engages in planning meetings and preparation sessions with partners in Content Production and closely related departments.
• Contributes to the growth of fellow operations staff through training and workshops. This includes participating in various training formats such as physical, mobile unit, classroom, virtual, etc., for skill enhancement and technology improvements applicable to operations.
• Utilizes a fundamental understanding of all professional and collegiate sports, including ongoing storylines, key players and games, strategies, and rules, to swiftly recognize and identify pivotal moments, and to anticipate the needs and preferences of the Show Director and Content Production staff.
• Diagnoses issues with technical broadcast equipment, resolves workflow challenges, and communicates the problems and necessary solutions effectively within the operational framework.
• Must have extensive knowledge of video, audio, graphics, and replay technology.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in broadcast or technical operations, including hands-on experience with remote transport and transmission systems.
• Professional experience in managing processes for remote productions and remote transport systems.
• Strong understanding of production workflow and operating systems.
• In-depth knowledge of telecommunications services.
• Experience in managing and implementing multiple budgets.
• Candidates must exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills along with organizational capabilities.
• Candidates must demonstrate a keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
