This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee the cross-functional delivery team that includes product, design, engineering, data, AI, analytics, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, and quality assurance.
β’ Take ownership of the technical strategy, architecture, execution, and delivery from the discovery phase through to operational deployment.
β’ Convert mission requirements and product priorities into precise technical plans, release goals, and engineering choices.
β’ Integrate software, data, AI, infrastructure, security, and quality into a cohesive system.
β’ Develop, mentor, and expand a high-achieving technical organization.
β’ Make decisions regarding architecture, integration, tooling, and delivery while balancing speed, security, quality, and maintainability.
β’ Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and uncertainties prior to their impact on delivery.
β’ Collaborate with customers, product leadership, and external stakeholders.
β’ Maintain a hands-on technical approach to challenge assumptions, review designs, and tackle complex problems.
β’ Provide an AI-enabled decision-support capability for federal government operations.
β’ Guarantee secure, explainable, and operational capability delivery.
β’ Proven track record in software engineering, AI/ML, data systems, analytics, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, product technology, or a related technical field.
β’ Experience in leading intricate technical initiatives across various teams and specialties.
β’ Demonstrated capability to transform ambiguity into functional systems and measurable results.
β’ Excellent systems thinking, communication abilities, and leadership judgment.
β’ Experience in delivering cloud-native software from initial concept through deployment and ongoing operations.
β’ US Citizenship is mandatory.
β’ Must possess in-scope US Secret clearance.
β’ Elevated security requirements apply to certain aspects of this role.
β’ Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites, DEFCON AI HQ, and vendor locations as necessary.
β’ Preferred: Active Top Secret clearance.
β’ Preferred: Experience in leading a zero-to-one product, platform, or mission capability.
β’ Preferred: Background in delivering technology in defense, intelligence, federal, or similarly regulated sectors.
β’ Preferred: Familiarity with AWS GovCloud, DevSecOps, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and secure cloud delivery.
β’ Preferred: Experience supporting RMF, ATO, accreditation, or similar security processes.
β’ Preferred: Expertise in AI/ML, large language models, analytics, graph technologies, or data-intensive systems.
β’ Preferred: Experience in developing human-in-the-loop decision-support systems and explainable AI functionalities.
β’ Preferred: History of close collaboration with product and design teams to deliver user-centered software solutions.
β’ Preferred: Experience in hiring, mentoring, and structuring technical teams during periods of rapid growth.
β’ Preferred: Experience in integrating third-party, partner, or subcontractor-delivered capabilities into a unified solution.
