• Contributes to the creation of high-quality and innovative real-time software for medical visualizations, including surgical techniques, advertisements, medical education, AR/VR products, and more.
• Develops realistic, optimized, real-time visualizations while working collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Continuously explores and applies new experimental features, technical art tools, and solutions for emerging visual and XR technologies.
• Designs technical art solutions for interactive visual applications using established industry standards and technologies.
• Aids in the development of 3D models, animations, rigging, UI design, and textures utilizing computer graphics software.
• Integrates models, animations, VFX, graphics, audio, video clips, and other graphic assets into real-time applications.
• Crafts art solutions for generating highly realistic renderings for VR/AR, web, and desktop 3D applications using state-of-the-art technologies.
• Creates artist tools and scripts in 3D software such as Maya and engines like Unreal and Unity.
• Collaborates with fellow artists and developers to enhance the 3D product library for real-time applications.
• Works with developers to create real-time visualizations that are easy for multidisciplinary teams to programmatically manipulate and utilize.
• Ensures proper documentation of processes, workflows, and configurations is maintained.
• Regularly reports progress and status of assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Functions productively and collaboratively with medical education teams, developers, 3D animators, modelers, and artists in a team-oriented environment.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
• Proven experience in creating, integrating, or optimizing models, assets, graphics, lighting, materials, animations, animation rigs, skinning, and VFX with real-time engines like Unity and Unreal.
• Familiarity with the automation and preparation of engineering models from CAD software such as Solidworks for use in real-time graphic applications.
• Experience with distributed version control systems, including Git or PlasticSCM.
• Knowledge of tracking artistic solution development through project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Cloud CMS.
• Understanding of company practices, standards, and collaborative work in a team with diverse skill sets.
• Advanced knowledge of real-time applications and engines.
• General understanding of the 3D real-time art pipeline, encompassing new AI art tools and traditional 3D art tools such as Maya, 3DS Max, Zbrush, Houdini, Adobe Substance 3D Suite, and Photoshop.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation, with expertise in two or more of the following areas: art tool development, material nodes, rigging/skinning, VFX nodes, UI design, and shader creation/modification.
• Advanced knowledge of cutting-edge real-time graphics technologies, including virtual geometry, dynamic lighting, global illumination systems, ray tracing, particle systems, super sampling, and custom shaders.
• Experience with one or more of the following: VR/AR-specific rendering features, virtual production, and graphics profiling and optimization.
• Intermediate understanding of automating art tasks, developing art pipelines, improving art workflows, and enhancing art reusability using scripting in real-time engines or 3D software tools.
