This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the entire process from asset creation to implementation, which encompasses 3D modeling, sculpting, retopology, producing clean UV layouts, baking maps, texturing, basic skinning, and ultimately exporting and integrating the asset into the engine.
• Operate under the guidance of Art Leadership to ensure strict compliance with artistic direction, established metrics, and asset creation methodologies while focusing on efficiency and speed.
• Collaborate with technical artists, animators, and designers to guarantee that assets function properly within the game engine.
• Engage actively in art reviews by applying feedback to enhance models, while also contributing ideas and workflows that improve both the production process and the final output.
• Utilize creative repurposing of existing assets, textures, and materials to develop new assets from extensive libraries.
• Develop and sustain a consistent character style, paying attention to detail and understanding technical requirements and limitations.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in the gaming industry, particularly in character art for PC or console platforms.
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates realistic human anatomy, clothing, and armor design.
• Key skills include organic 3D sculpting (ZBrush/3D-Coat), proficiency in 3D modeling (Maya/Blender), and solid hard-surface modeling capabilities.
• A thorough understanding of map baking, PBR workflows, and material definition using Substance Painter and Photoshop.
• Experience with proprietary engines, showcasing strong technical execution and problem-solving abilities.
• A strong desire to collaborate effectively and an openness to constructive feedback.
