• Serve as the main liaison between the Art and Engineering teams, ensuring the smooth integration of all artistic assets, including 2D, 3D, and animations into the Unity game engine.
• Design, document, and uphold the pipelines for the creation and export of art assets.
• Create custom tools, scripts, and automation to support artists and optimize workflows.
• Actively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical art challenges.
• Maintain an ideal balance between visual quality and performance across all target mobile devices.
• Conceptualize, design, and implement high-quality visual effects to enhance visual appeal.
• Collaborate across various disciplines to address and resolve intricate creative and technical challenges.
• Develop and sustain custom shaders, materials, and lighting configurations within Unity.
• Produce clear and current documentation on technical art standards and best practices.
• Over 3 years of professional experience as a Technical Artist in the game development sector.
• Expert-level proficiency in Unity and its rendering pipelines, including a thorough understanding of the engine's profiler, memory management, and build processes.
• Expertise in the creation, optimization, and maintenance of real-time Visual Effects (VFX), focusing on efficient particle systems (e.g., Shuriken, VFX Graph) and intricate, stylized effects for mobile platforms.
• Strong programming or scripting capabilities (C#, Python, or similar) for the development of editor tools, customized art pipelines, and workflow automation.
• Proficient in writing and optimizing custom shaders (using HLSL/GLSL or visual node-based editors) that meet specific visual objectives while adhering to strict mobile performance limits.
• A thorough understanding of 3D art content creation tools (e.g., Blender, Maya) and the technical requirements for cleanly exporting assets (rigs, meshes, texture maps) into the game engine.
• Extensive knowledge of mobile platform limitations (iOS and Android) regarding asset size, texture compression, draw calls, and memory usage.
• Outstanding communication skills and a proven ability to function as a translator and collaborator between technical engineering and creative art teams.
