
Technical Application Specialist – Water Treatment, Wastewater

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Performs on-site testing and selection of products for water treatment applications.
• Executes “Coagulation Studies” for drinking water products.
• Carries out wastewater product selection studies for both municipal and industrial clarification.
• Conducts sludge dewatering studies pertaining to municipal and industrial applications.
• Performs coagulation and permanganate demand studies, providing treatment recommendations for iron filtration systems.
• Aids in the sales efforts of water treatment chemicals for industrial, municipal, and metal finishing sectors.
• Supports professional organizations by contributing to training seminars.
• Participates in the development of new products and applications for Hawkins, Inc.'s offerings.
• Conducts plant trials related to potable water and wastewater applications.
• Diagnoses customer treatment systems and offers recommendations for enhancing performance.
• Contributes to the training of Hawkins Water Treatment Group staff in both potable and wastewater applications.
• Aids the sales team in providing recommendations for scale and corrosion treatment in potable water.
• A four-year degree or equivalent experience is required.
• A degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering is preferred.
• Experience in the Water/Wastewater technical field is advantageous.
• Ability to recognize suitable business opportunities and key personnel within accounts.
• Capability to earn the trust of customers.
• Proven ability to manage a high level of activity under diverse conditions.
• Proficient computer skills, with experience in software systems, preferably JDE.
• Exceptional customer service abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good problem-solving capabilities.
• Previous sales experience is preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform calculations for flow rates, etc.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Effective organizational skills and follow-through are required.
• Proven history of working in environments that demand autonomy and self-motivation.
• Must have a clean driving record and be able to pass drug and background screenings.
