Technical Accounting Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Assist with the financial reporting and technical accounting functions for entities operating under BACEN and IFRS guidelines.

• Direct technical research and analysis of intricate accounting issues within the BACEN (COSIF and Circulars) and IFRS frameworks.

• Create and uphold high-quality technical accounting memorandums, coordinating with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and regulators when necessary.

• Collaborate in the development and quality assessment of prudential financial statements and IFRS consolidated reports.

• Work closely with Operational Accounting, FP&A, Risk, Legal, and Product teams to evaluate the accounting implications of new transactions, regulatory changes, and business initiatives.

• Act as an internal resource for accounting treatment under BACEN GAAP and IFRS.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

• Preferred: Active CRC (Brazilian CPA).

• Extensive knowledge and practical experience with COSIF, BACEN resolutions and circulars, and IFRS (particularly IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IAS 1, to be replaced by IFRS 18).

• AI (Artificial Intelligence) oriented - capable of utilizing tools to enhance tasks, automation, and reporting.

• Experience in preparing technical accounting memorandums.

• Prior experience in a financial institution, Big 4 audit firm, or a role focused on regulatory accounting is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with the consolidation of financial statements and financial disclosures according to IFRS and/or local regulatory standards (e.g., BACEN GAAP).

• Demonstrated ability to produce clear and well-organized technical documents and articulate complex accounting conclusions.

• Strong attention to detail, ownership of projects, and capability to manage overlapping deadlines and deliverables.

• Proficiency in Portuguese and advanced English; Spanish is a plus.
