Technical Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Lead the accounting function during a crucial phase of growth and transformation.

• Assume complete responsibility for reviewing and managing Right-of-Use (ROU) assets and lease liabilities.

• Ensure all documentation is comprehensive and ready for audits.

• Supervise PPE accounting and enhance capitalization policies.

• Manage asset disposals and assess impairment considerations.

• Evaluate complex transactions, contract assessments, and financing arrangements.

• Collaborate with leadership to improve accrual methodologies.

• Set and uphold high reconciliation standards.

• Prepare thorough audit schedules, reports, and technical documentation for management and external auditors.

• Actively engage in the upcoming software migration and workflow redesign.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Required experience with QuickBooks Online.

• Experience with NetSuite is a plus.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is mandatory.

• CPA or CIA certification is strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Accountant, Financial Auditor, or Assistant Controller with extensive knowledge of US GAAP, particularly ASC 842 and intricate capitalization policies.

• Outstanding analytical abilities with a proven track record of interpreting complex financial data and exercising high-level accounting judgment.

• Strong organizational capabilities with a keen attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of training staff on policies and presenting clear findings to external auditors and leadership.
