This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and finalize the monthly and quarterly closing processes, which encompass accounts receivable and payable, payroll, fixed assets and prepaids, cash management and bank reconciliations, accruals, and journal entry processing.
• Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll, maintain employee records within the payroll system, create related journal entries, and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts.
• Generate and dispatch customer invoices, collect outstanding payments, and engage in discussions regarding overdue invoices and anticipated payments with the Financial Manager.
• Assist with tax and compliance filings, including sales tax, 1099 reporting, and benefits compliance testing.
• Prepare audit schedules and offer support during audits.
• Document, implement, and uphold accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify, propose, and apply scalable process enhancements and automation.
• Facilitate Finance system implementations, enhance data quality, and boost close efficiency and predictability.
• Compile monthly reporting packages for management review.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative variance analyses for management presentations.
• Aid in the review of customer contracts and the determination of revenue recognition.
• Manage Ramp, A/P, TriNet, and Fidelity systems.
• Act as a resource for Finance partners and complete special projects, reports, and ad hoc analyses as assigned by management.
• Report directly to the Finance Manager.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/accruals, and month-end closing duties.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, particularly ASC 606.
• CPA (active or with intentions to pursue licensure) is strongly preferred.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Strong ambition to grow and succeed.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Box/Dropbox, TriNet, and/or Ramp is advantageous.
• Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations, and analysis of large datasets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Comfortable operating within a fast-paced start-up environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through in a deadline-oriented setting.
• A mindset geared towards continuous improvement and the ability to differentiate between routine processes and issues that require escalation or technical review.
