Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Generate and publish journal entries

• Evaluate financial data and provide a summary of the financial situation

• Reconcile and assess balance sheet and profit & loss accounts

• Prepare financial statements and other necessary reports as per schedule

• Assist with tax audits and the preparation of tax returns

• Support both internal and external auditing processes

• Aid in the month-end and year-end closing procedures

• Create and document business processes to uphold and enhance internal controls

• Ensure adherence to GAAP and IFRS standards

• Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and Accounting Director to refine financial processes

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–7 years of relevant experience

• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Accountant or an Accounting Supervisor

• Comprehensive knowledge of general accounting practices

• Profound understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Familiarity with financial accounting statements

• Experience with general ledger operations and the month-end/year-end closing process

• Practical experience with accounting software systems, such as SAP or Oracle

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLookups, formulas, and pivot tables

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Capability to work effectively as part of a team

• Experience across multiple locations is essential

• Retail experience is preferred

• Experience with shared services is advantageous

• CPA or CMA certification is not mandatory, but preferred
