Tech Lead, TypeScript

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance the core application interfaces: the React web application, the tRPC API, along with our real-time UI and administrative dashboards.

• Establish foundational platform elements: IAM (authentication/authorization), multitenancy, and audit logging to serve as reusable components for all teams.

• Design and implement event-driven services and typed API contracts using TypeScript/Node.js.

• Write production-level code approximately 50% of the time on the most challenging components (authentication flows, performance enhancements, real-time functionalities).

• Set SLOs and ensure observability (traces, metrics, logs) while leading incident response for the core applications.

• Oversee architecture evaluations and ADRs, guide technical decision-making, and establish standards across teams.

• Collaborate with the Platform team on Kubernetes, CI/CD, and security frameworks to deliver dependable releases.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years in software engineering with TypeScript/Node.js (full-stack experience with React).

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes in managing production workloads.

• Proficiency in cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, or similar).

• Experience in leading technical teams and overseeing significant architecture transitions.

• Proven track record in mentorship.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures (Kafka/NATS or similar).

• Familiarity with security and compliance measures: OAuth2/OIDC, RBAC/ABAC/policy, multitenancy, and audit logging.

• Experience with observability tools: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, SLOs, and error budgets.
