Tech Lead – Staff Java Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Oversee technical excellence by designing and delivering scalable Java solutions that enhance our innovative gaming platform.

• Create and execute complex, scalable system architectures while guiding team members and promoting technical proficiency.

• Conduct code reviews and set best practices to ensure top-quality deliverables across the engineering department.

• Enhance database performance and develop robust data solutions, especially focusing on PostgreSQL and query optimization.

• Design and manage messaging systems utilizing Kafka or similar technologies to process high-volume data streams.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate production issues, fully owning system reliability and performance.

• Encourage technical discussions and cultivate collaborative problem-solving among cross-functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant production experience with Java and a deep understanding of JVM internals and its ecosystem.

• Strong capabilities in system design, with a proven track record of documenting and implementing complex architectures.

• Advanced knowledge of relational database principles, expertise in PostgreSQL, and skills in performance tuning.

• Solid understanding of messaging concepts, preferably with experience in the Kafka ecosystem.

• Outstanding troubleshooting skills and a thorough knowledge of concurrency principles and security best practices.

• Leadership experience with a focus on team mentoring and upper-intermediate English proficiency for effective stakeholder communication.
