Tech Lead – Product Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Facilitate architectural and technical discussions within the team, ensuring clear decision-making while documenting tradeoffs and risks.

• Steer the technical direction of the team, ensuring consistency with Stensul’s overarching engineering architecture.

• Advocate for engineering best practices, including secure SDLC, data privacy, observability, and system reliability.

• Contribute to the codebase directly and set an example through high-quality engineering practices.

• Enhance system architecture, scalability, performance, and maintainability.

• Lead complex technical initiatives and refactoring projects.

• Mentor and assist engineers in their technical development.

• Cultivate a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.

• Promote team ownership—from ideation to production and ongoing maintenance.

• Provide technical insights and perspectives for hiring and team expansion decisions, collaborating with the Engineering Manager responsible for staffing and capacity planning.

• Collaborate closely with other Tech Leads, platform teams, and SREs to align on architecture and engineering standards.

• Coordinate cross-team initiatives and manage high-impact deployments.

• Contribute to the enhancement of engineering processes and practices throughout the organization.

• Ensure system availability and reliability, taking responsibility during critical situations and guiding the team through them.

• Lead and engage in incident reviews, post-mortems, and efforts for continuous improvement.

• Actively identify and communicate risks, blockers, and technical challenges.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in building and delivering high-quality software.

• More than 5 years of experience in technical leadership within engineering teams.

• Extensive experience in designing scalable web applications and APIs.

• Strong grasp of software architecture, data modeling, and design patterns.

• Experience in modern web development environments.

• Proven track record in leading significant refactoring efforts in complex systems.

• Deep expertise in JavaScript and familiarity with frameworks like React or Vue.js.

• Proficient in server-side languages such as PHP, Node.js, Golang, or Python.

• Strong understanding of web architecture, APIs, and distributed systems.

• Familiarity with relational and document databases (MySQL, MongoDB).

• Strong commitment to testing and quality practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, along with relevant frameworks.

• Excellent refactoring skills and dedication to maintaining code quality.

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools.

• Proficient in AI-assisted software development workflows.

• Currently engaged in hands-on work with AI agents as part of your daily engineering responsibilities.

• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.

• Familiar with version control systems (Git).
