Tech Lead – Node, React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Work closely with the Product Manager and Design Lead to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliver a smooth, high-performance front-end experience.

• Guide, mentor, and oversee a team of engineers, cultivating a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

• Establish and maintain a workspace where your engineers feel motivated, engaged, and are continually enhancing their skills.

• Take ownership of the project's technical delivery, ensuring that timelines are adhered to and that deliverables meet the client's goals.

• Choose and update technologies that best fit the client's requirements while aligning with our standards.

• Support the Product Manager in refining the discovery process, making sure that epics and user stories in the roadmap are well-defined, estimated, and prioritized according to business objectives.

• Act as a hands-on contributor to the project, collaborating with the team to develop features.

• Perform regular code reviews to uphold code quality.

• Supervise the overall software architecture.

• Actively seek opportunities to enhance the development process and improve team efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of experience in a leadership capacity.

• More than 6 years in engineering roles.

• At least 3 years of experience in developing web applications using Node.js and React.

• Proven experience in software architecture (experience with projects from inception is a plus).

• Experience in establishing and maintaining hosting infrastructure.

• Strong business acumen (background in early-stage startups is an advantage).

• Eagerness to learn new technologies and integrate AI into your work processes.

• Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities for tackling complex technical challenges.

• Openness to learning new technologies.

• Proficient in English.
