Tech Lead, Java, Spring Boot

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Assume technical ownership of your domain, spanning from architecture to production operations.

• Outline target architectures and make decisions regarding architecture as well as build versus buy options.

• Set technical guardrails for the Java/Spring Boot and Angular/TypeScript ecosystems.

• Challenge current solutions and advance systems in accordance with market and technological trends.

• Collaborate closely with Product and stakeholders, converting business goals into technical strategies.

• Thoroughly evaluate requirements, making dependencies and risks evident.

• Assess AI opportunities and incorporate them where they provide significant added value.

• Assume technical accountability for both discovery and delivery, emphasizing architecture, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

• Uphold coding and quality standards to ensure swift and reliable releases.

• Identify structural vulnerabilities early, ensuring stability, maintainability, and transparency in production.

• Empower developers through collaboration, feedback, and shared guidelines.

• Offer clear, transparent, and motivating technical leadership, especially during transitional phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Multiple years of experience in developing intricate software systems and providing technical guidance, such as in roles like Tech Lead, Senior Engineer, or Staff Engineer.

• Strong intuition for architecture, system design, and sustainable technical choices within established system environments.

• Proven experience collaborating with Product and stakeholders, translating business needs into technical assignments.

• Several years of experience working with Java/Spring Boot.

• Ideally, familiarity with TypeScript/Angular.

• Confidence in working with APIs, integrations, distributed systems, and CI/CD processes.

• Experience in software development within production-oriented settings.

• High standards for code quality, clear technical principles, and comprehensive test coverage.

• Solid understanding of stability, scalability, and maintainability in production environments.

• Interest in the pragmatic adoption of emerging technologies, including the integration of AI capabilities like Claude Code or Copilot.

• Proficiency in German at least at a professional working level (C1), both written and verbal.
