Tech Lead – Cryptographic Asset Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop a cryptographic asset registry.

• Create an inventory for keys and certificates, including lifecycle tracking and user-friendly interfaces.

• Implement and oversee the platform with telemetry, audit evidence, and policy-driven authorization for sensitive materials.

• Manage signing processes from start to finish, covering job type design, API and CLI interfaces, and customer experience.

• Facilitate post-quantum production signing using ML-DSA dual signing on HSM-backed keys, LMS software keys, and hybrid processes.

• Establish agent-assisted self-service pathways while assessing areas needing human oversight.

• Evaluate deflection rate, time to first signature, and onboarding duration.

• Advance the cryptographic asset lifecycle platform through technology, processes, and personnel.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 8 years of experience in building and operating production software, including taking ownership of a service with real availability commitments.

• Strong practical engineering skills in Python, Java, Go, or similar languages, across the entire stack of a cloud service.

• Familiarity with applied cryptography, including PKI, key management, digital signatures, and HSM-backed systems.

• Hands-on experience in applying AI and agentic workflows to tangible engineering challenges.

• Excellent written communication skills and a proactive approach to work.

• Practical experience with code signing, HSM-backed key management, or security in the software supply chain.

• Proven track record of transforming a ticket-based process into authentic self-service solutions.
