This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Creates comprehensive design packages for new store openings, relocations, and expansions that comply with building codes, bylaws, and health and safety regulations. This includes schematic drawings, plans, elevations, RCPs, section details, and millwork packages.
β’ Collaborates with and directs external consultants regarding design intent, deadlines, and milestone management, ensuring that all necessary permits and approvals are obtained within the designated timelines.
β’ Conducts plan checks and redlines drawing sets in partnership with the Construction PM to confirm that all design intent and details have been accurately captured by external consultants.
β’ Generates fixture packages for millwork vendors.
β’ Works closely with partner architects and contractors to troubleshoot issues, answer queries, and provide preferred recommendations.
β’ Oversees budget and Capex understanding for projects that require construction or furniture fit-out.
β’ Prepares presentations and 3D models for internal approval processes, appraisals, and project sign-off by the senior leadership team.
β’ Designs fixture mockups for R&D and supports product and range rollout needs.
β’ Collaborates with the SSP team to support and implement a cohesive visual merchandising and design strategy aimed at boosting sales, maintaining Global Brand Standards, and delivering an engaging customer experience across 260+ shops in the USA and Canada.
β’ Works with the entire SSP team on the rollout of new shop openings from initial design to shop setup.
β’ Partners with cross-functional teams globally within Lush and with external vendors to identify optimal design considerations related to project budget, construction, MEP, retail operations, visual merchandising, IT, and branding, ensuring the creation of environmentally responsible spaces while considering all aspects of the fit-out processes, tech systems, and materials used.
β’ Develops and maintains design guides for use by other areas of the business as needed.
β’ Organizes and manages online files for usage and sharing.
β’ Provides remote or, when appropriate, onsite support for all shop and space planning requirements.
β’ A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in commercial or retail design within a brand or practice environment.
β’ Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
β’ Experience with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
β’ Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate actively and proactively within a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team.
β’ Demonstrates strong verbal communication skills, capable of presenting ideas and findings to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
