This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• In the role of Team Lead within the Oil & Gas division, you will oversee and grow a team of engineers, drafters, designers, and/or technicians primarily serving industrial clients.
• A Team Lead’s core duty is to ensure the precise, timely, and high-quality completion of Electrical Engineering tasks assigned to the team.
• You will contribute to the development of the department's Standard Best Practices (SBPs) and ensure their enforcement and implementation as necessary.
• Team Leads are expected to mentor and coach their team members, aiding in their professional growth.
• You will collaborate directly with the Director of the Oil and Gas market vertical to expand and scale the team, primarily located in the Permian Basin, with some overlap in the Delaware Basin.
• Participate in the annual formulation of a business plan alongside other Team Leads in the market and the Director.
• Ensure a robust backlog, high utilization rates, and strong margins on project work.
• Utilize Resource Planning Tools to maintain a balanced workload among peers.
• Assign tasks and coordinate efforts with entry-level engineers, technicians, or administrative staff.
• Support business development through Seller-Doer initiatives, assist with marketing tasks, and prepare proposals as necessary.
• Aid in the establishment and management of engineering budgets and scope expectations.
• Prepare technical write-ups for relevant change orders.
• Review submittals for compliance with client specifications and design standards.
• Attend safety training sessions and adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Be prepared to work beyond 40 hours a week to fulfill project, proposal, and administrative responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain strong and responsive relationships with clients, particularly regarding communication related to specific assignments and meeting topics.
• Manage and facilitate the development and growth of team members through personalized development plans and servant leadership.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and design efficiencies.
• Prepare various documents and reports related to projects, including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studies.
• Meet with key platinum accounts quarterly to provide business updates and gather feedback.
• Attend conferences, training workshops, seminars, and relevant undergraduate and graduate classes as necessary for professional advancement and to uphold work quality.
• Uphold high ethical and professional standards while demonstrating sound judgment.
• Maintain a professional understanding of all relevant Codes and Standards, as well as construction practices.
• Review and verify the work of engineers, designers, drafters, and field service personnel for overall quality and accuracy.
• Provide field assistance, troubleshooting, and observation reports as required.
• Oversee the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel to ensure general quality and accuracy as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; electric power option is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of engineering or relevant field experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred but can be offset by significant industry experience.
• Must be professional, articulate, and capable of exercising sound independent judgment and discretion.
• Highly organized and a motivated self-starter.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality work with meticulous attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with limited information to create system designs and plans.
• Flexible and able to adapt within a fast-paced environment with a rapidly growing team.
• Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills; ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization; possesses high emotional intelligence.
• Ability to foster staff growth through mentoring and coaching.
