This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.
• Support the creation of Electrical Engineering Documents (50%)
• Execute intermediate to advanced engineering tasks as assigned
• Conduct intermediate to advanced electrical design activities under the guidance of a senior engineer
• Perform intermediate to advanced calculations and assessments for electrical systems
• Use AutoCAD and Revit software to produce drawings and visual aids
• Review and draft basic operational sequences
• Assist with Pre-Construction Activities (15%)
• Evaluate existing building conditions and compile technical reports on findings
• Gather data and relevant information for construction documentation
• Create project design and construction documents
• Engage in basic editing and writing of project specifications
• Assist in Construction Activities (25%)
• Collaborate with the engineering team and closely interact with the project management team
• Examine shop drawings and submittals
• Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs)
• Inspect and finalize punch lists and project closeout documentation
• Reporting (10%)
• Develop project progress reports for both internal and external stakeholders
• Update and manage the shop drawing and RFI log
• Track personal hours utilizing company tools
• Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on schedule and within budget
• Utilize AI-enabled and digital tools to improve efficiency, minimize manual efforts, and ensure consistent, high-quality work output.
• Seek opportunities to refine processes and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, exploring new technologies, skills, and methods that enhance individual and team performance.
• Adapt to new technologies and evolving digital workflows, actively facilitating the integration and adoption of innovative tools throughout the organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, with a strong grasp of engineering principles
• At least three years of experience in electrical engineering
• Understanding of the fundamental electrical systems in buildings, including single/three-phase power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, grounding, and life safety systems
• Familiarity with codes and specifications relevant to electrical system design, such as the National Electric Code, Life Safety, and Energy Conservation Codes
• Proficiency with technical/design software for short circuit coordination, arc flash studies, equipment sizing, and lighting calculations
• Competence in creating drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD and Revit
• Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) with outstanding organizational skills for file management
• Skilled in conducting code analysis, including equipment selection and wiring to comply with code requirements
• Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation.
• Capable of succeeding in a remote work environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactivity, and resourcefulness in a distraction-free setting
• Adherence to company and site safety protocols
• Competent in analyzing and preparing documents, reports, and correspondence
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for technical and non-technical information
• Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and occasionally serve as the primary client contact
• Capable of working effectively both as part of a team and independently with moderate supervision
• Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
