Senior Electrical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Direct and oversee the design and development of electrical subsystems for spacecraft, focusing on power, harness, and data management sectors.

• Take ownership of the electrical architecture, guaranteeing designs that are reliable and fault-tolerant for use in orbital conditions.

• Establish and uphold strategies for power distribution, load management, protection concepts, and high-reliability electrical interfaces.

• Create and evaluate harness architectures, which include routing, connector choices, grounding, shielding, and cable-level dependability.

• Supervise data-handling interfaces to ensure effective communication among avionics units, payloads, and onboard computers.

• Generate and validate electrical schematics, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), wiring diagrams, and subsystem documentation throughout the development process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Required experience in the space industry, specifically with spacecraft electrical systems, satellite platforms, or mission-critical space hardware.

• Expertise in power system design for spacecraft, including aspects such as power distribution, conversion, protection, and load analysis.

• Proficient in harness architecture, covering routing, connector selection, grounding, shielding, and designing high-reliability cables.

• Knowledge of data-handling systems, including avionics interfaces, communication buses, and onboard data flows.

• Experience with high-reliability electrical hardware designed for extreme environments, such as radiation, thermal extremes, and vacuum conditions.

• Capability to produce and review electrical schematics, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), wiring diagrams, and system-level documentation.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military training and experience.
