Team Lead – Accounts Payable

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Payable department

• Lead, mentor, and nurture a team of five Accounts Payable Clerks

• Review and authorize non-PO invoices within Concur

• Extract and upload invoices from Concur into SAP

• Evaluate and approve the establishment of new vendor accounts

• Manage bi-weekly payment processing

• Monitor Accounts Payable aging and address any outstanding issues

• Assist the Accounts Payable team with processing purchase order invoices and their postings

• Cultivate and sustain positive relationships with vendors while resolving payment discrepancies

• Manage reporting, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for Accounts Payable

• Support budgeting efforts related to accounts payable

• Aid in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and answering inquiries

• Oversee vendor onboarding and ensure that banking information is validated to reduce fraud risks

• Process employee expense reimbursements

• File 1099 tax forms

• Perform monthly account reconciliations

• Execute month-end responsibilities for accounts payable

• Carry out month-end responsibilities for accounting

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong knowledge of comprehensive Accounts Payable processes

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable and accounting roles

• Experience in leading or supervising a team

• Background in managing high-volume invoice processing environments

• Practical experience with month-end activities, reconciliations, and vendor management

• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas

• Experience in processing electronic payments, including EFT, Wire, ACH, and cheque payments

• High level of attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and ongoing improvement.
