Tax Preparation Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Prepare and support the preparation of individual income tax returns.

• Review client tax documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.

• Engage with clients to discuss necessary documentation and tax preparation requirements.

• Maintain well-organized and precise client records.

• Adhere to established procedures and workflows for tax preparation.

• Oversee the processing of returns and ensure proper documentation is maintained.

• Offer guidance and operational assistance to tax preparers as required.

• Uphold professional communication standards with clients and team members.

• Safeguard confidential taxpayer information.

• Comply with IRS due diligence standards and tax preparation regulations.

• Complete necessary training and stay updated on relevant changes in tax law.

• Provide client-facing tax preparation and operational support during the peak tax season.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess an active PTIN or the capability to obtain one prior to preparing tax returns for compensation.

• Have an active Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN) or willingness to apply for IRS approval.

• Previous experience in tax preparation is preferred but not mandatory.

• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

• Capable of managing multiple clients and meeting deadlines during tax season.

• Ability to work independently while adhering to established protocols.

• Dedication to accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical practices in tax preparation.

• Proficient in utilizing web-based technology and tax preparation software.

• Ability to maintain consistent communication and adhere to deadlines during the tax season.
