Tax Manager – High Net-Worth Individuals

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Review corporate and partnership tax returns (Forms 1120, 1065, 1040)

• Manage multistate filings, SALT, and compliance with nexus requirements

• Oversee tax adjustments using Engagement software

• Provide consultation on payroll taxes (FICA, unemployment, withholding, etc.)

• Advise clients on SALT risks and the registration process

• Perform tax research and prepare client-ready memos

• Offer advice on tax-saving strategies and planning opportunities

• Lead the response to IRS and state notices, audits, and inquiries

• Coordinate resolutions and act as the primary contact for client tax concerns

• Supervise tax provisions (ASC 740) for corporate clients

• Ensure tax reporting complies with current laws and collaborate with finance teams

• Assist in maintaining clean and accurate financial statement reporting

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA certification is mandatory

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• 6+ years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax (1120, 1065, 1040)

• Extensive experience in payroll tax, SALT/Nexus, and resolution of IRS/state issues

• Comprehensive understanding of ASC 740 tax provisions

• Proficient in Engagement software and possess strong Excel skills
