Senior Manager – Global Tax

📋 Description

• Take charge of and oversee Spreetail’s global tax operations, including U.S. federal, multi-state, VAT, and other indirect tax compliance, ensuring precision, promptness, and scalability as the company expands.

• Develop and implement domestic and international tax planning strategies that minimize cash tax expenditures, facilitate transactions and global growth, and enhance long-term shareholder value.

• Act as the internal tax expert and strategic collaborator, providing guidance to the Global Controller, CFO, FP&A, and executive team on transactions, structuring, and significant business initiatives.

• Supervise and lead external tax consultants and a small internal team, being accountable for results while balancing cost, quality, and risk considerations.

• Establish scalable tax processes and documentation to support ongoing growth and future readiness for public company status, embodying a strong “act like an owner” mentality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred (advanced degree is a plus).

• Over 6 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting and/or industry, showcasing ownership of complex tax issues.

• Solid technical expertise in U.S. federal, multi-state, and indirect tax (SALT, VAT), with experience in partnership and C-corporation structures and a working knowledge of ASC 740.

• Demonstrated experience in tax planning, cross-border structuring, and enabling transactions or growth, supporting business expansion and strategic initiatives.

• A self-directed leader who thrives in ambiguous situations, possessing strong analytical and communication skills and a proven ability to manage external advisors while simplifying tax complexities into clear business insights.
