Business Services Advisor – Tax & Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns for businesses, trusts, and complex individual cases.

• Deliver proactive tax planning and advisory services, primarily targeting small business clients.

• Evaluate work completed by junior accountants to guarantee accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.

• Communicate directly with clients and address inquiries with minimal oversight.

• Play a key role in providing small business advisory services as an essential part of the position.

• Ensure that all work papers and supporting documents are thorough, precise, and compliant.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5+ years of experience in accounting or tax compliance positions.

• Proficient understanding and familiarity with Australian tax regulations, including business, trust, and individual tax returns.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word (the firm does not use Apple/Mac systems).

• Significant experience with Xero accounting software.

• Familiarity with Xero Practice Manager, specifically regarding WIP (Work in Progress) tracking and timesheet management.

• Strong practical experience with FBT, especially concerning motor vehicle and entertainment benefits.

• Knowledge of Div 7A, including the ability to ascertain its applicability and prepare necessary supporting workpapers.

• Proven experience in delivering comprehensive tax planning services.

• Background in reviewing and mentoring junior staff members.

• Excellent client communication abilities with a capacity to work independently.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality outcomes.

• Experience in small business advisory services is highly advantageous.
