• Client Advisory & Engagement Management
• Act as the main point of contact for designated clients, overseeing daily communications and serving as a trusted advisor for sales tax matters.
• Address and respond to client inquiries effectively.
• Proactively recognize risks, challenges, and opportunities; convey recommendations in a clear and professional manner.
• Lead the onboarding process for new clients, which includes reviewing sample data, anticipated outputs, and compliance schedules.
• Advanced Data Review & Compliance Oversight
• Conduct and/or supervise thorough reviews of client sales data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to jurisdictional regulations.
• Assess and validate state and local jurisdictional files generated by internal sales tax solutions, confirming accuracy, completeness, and reconciliation with source data.
• Execute both high-level and meticulous reconciliations of calculated taxes, reported figures, and payments.
• Verify filing accuracy prior to submission, including schedules, attachments, and necessary supporting documentation.
• Technical Analysis & Problem Resolution
• Examine discrepancies, notices, and system exceptions, coordinating resolutions with internal teams and clients.
• Assist with audits and client inquiries by preparing documentation, clarifications, and reconciliations.
• Process Leadership, Controls & Governance
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, review standards, data privacy, and documentation requirements.
• Maintain and evaluate audit-ready workpapers, checklists, and evidence of controls.
• Lead the updates to process documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
• Identify control deficiencies, recurring issues, and opportunities for automation, collaborating with technology teams for enhancements.
• Team Leadership & Development
• Aid in training initiatives by sharing best practices, technical advice, and process enhancements.
• Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
• Prepare and review status reports, exception logs, and operational metrics for both internal stakeholders and clients.
• Foster continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing errors, cycle time, and manual labor.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• 3 years of relevant work experience
• Attain professional certifications pertinent to the area of expertise, and maintain required licenses
• Must possess strong analytical abilities
• Proficient in the use of relevant technology
• Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing at all organizational levels, internally and externally
