Tax Manager, Direct Tax – Strategic Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Assist with high-impact tax initiatives linked to business growth, new organizational structures, market expansion, and other strategic objectives.

• Collaborate closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, external tax advisors, and other financial stakeholders to deliver practical, business-focused tax support.

• Aid in assessing and implementing tax considerations related to international growth and changing business needs.

• Lead process enhancements that improve how the tax function supports the organization and scales with company expansion.

• Assume responsibility for key direct tax workstreams while managing long-term strategic and operational projects.

• Foster strong cross-functional relationships and assist the tax team in responding swiftly and thoughtfully to complex, high-priority issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of corporate tax experience, ideally encompassing a blend of public accounting and in-house experience.

• In-depth knowledge of direct tax, including federal and state corporate income tax compliance and provision work.

• Understanding of international tax concepts and the tax implications associated with operations across multiple jurisdictions.

• Experience in supporting strategic tax issues, process improvements, or special projects beyond standard compliance activities.

• Excellent communication skills with the capability to articulate tax matters clearly to cross-functional colleagues.

• A proactive mindset with the ability to independently manage priorities in a lean, fast-paced environment.
