This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assess clients’ financial situations and objectives to identify opportunities for tax optimization.
• Review, prepare, sign, and file federal and state tax returns, including Forms 1040 and 1120-S.
• Ensure high-quality and compliant tax work that aligns with project and organizational goals.
• Assist tax professionals with daily responsibilities and continuous professional development.
• Guide, train, and provide constructive feedback to junior tax team members.
• Balance immediate project demands with the long-term strategic goals of the organization.
• Communicate tax updates and provide responses throughout the organization.
• Conduct research and analysis of tax laws, regulations, and policies, and prepare technical memoranda.
• Present tax findings and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and their implications for compliance.
• Collaborate with leadership and various departments on tax issues and complex matters.
• Act as a subject matter expert on tax issues and the completion of tax returns.
• Compile periodic reports regarding tax compliance status, risks, and opportunities for senior management.
• Must hold an active CPA, EA, or JD in the state of residency.
• 3–5 years of experience in preparing, signing, and filing Forms 1040 and 1120-S.
• Familiarity with additional complexities such as Form 1065 and Schedules C, E, and SE is advantageous.
• Strong technical skills with cloud-based applications and tax research and preparation tools, including CCH, GoSystems, SurePrep, Google Suite, and Slack.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to explain complex tax matters and build trust with internal colleagues and clients.
• Tech-savvy and quick to learn and teach new tools.
• Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional projects.
• Exposure to multi-state tax principles, including nexus, apportionment, and state allocations, is a significant advantage.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must possess an active CPA, EA, or JD in the state of residency.
