Tax Director – CPA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee the tax department as the senior technical expert of the firm

• Propel the expansion of Tax Advisory Services (TAS)

• Enhance the personnel and systems within the tax department

• Manage the firm's tax business unit and participate on the leadership team

• Provide an outstanding client experience across various client tiers

• Ensure accuracy in tax returns and adherence to deadlines

• Execute tax strategies while maintaining operational consistency and accountability

• Develop, support, and supervise advisors and preparers

• Broaden and enrich the advisory practice across the client portfolio

• Retain and serve high-value clients while establishing trusted relationships with senior clients

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA is required; must hold a valid CPA license

• A Master's degree in Taxation is highly preferred

• Over 10 years of public accounting experience with significant time in a leadership or review role

• Expertise in developing tax strategies

• Proficient in quickly assessing clients’ situations and formulating strategies to reduce tax exposure

• Extensive knowledge in individual and business taxation, including 1040s, 1120-S, 1065, multi-state, and multi-entity structures

• Established ability to cultivate and sustain client relationships at the advisory level

• Experience in managing or developing tax staff

• Comfortable in a growing firm and capable of implementing structure

• In-depth expertise in tax planning, compliance, and intricate return reviews

• Proficient in coaching, motivating, and ensuring accountability among team members

• Capable of clearly conveying tax strategies

• Skilled at diagnosing complex tax and financial situations and proposing effective, defensible solutions

• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through

• Ability to strategically contribute to the firm’s vision
